Sydney Mesher, originally from Portland, Oregon, is a New York based dancer, model, speaker, author, actor, and artist. She is represented by C Talent at Whalar, Clear Talent Group Dance Department, and Zebedee Models. She is a Pace University graduate with a BFA in Commercial Dance.
Constantly advocating for individuality and artistry, Sydney strives to share her story. Born without her left hand, Sydney's differences are blatantly illuminated. She found confidence within her unique body, and has embarked on a journey of celebrating and praising all body types.
As a dancer, Mesher has performed and worked for various artists and brands. In 2019, she made her debut as a Radio City Rockette. Since then, Mesher has danced and choreographed for the first season of “Growing Up” on Disney Plus, and worked with Olay Beauty in their “Easy Open Lid” commercial product launch. She danced for NHK Japan for their spring celebration, and with Dance Lab New York for their summer cycle, and danced in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. She starred in a Core Hydration Commercial series and ad campaign, is featured in a Real Life Strong segment of Health Magazine, and appeared in the “Smartphone User’s Guide to Etiquette,” which was released by Refinery 21. She has performed for Kpop Group, BTS Official, in their Love Yourself World Tour at Citi Field, danced for Jordan Fisher at an intimate concert in LA, and performed in Candace Brown’s New York show, the Soul Spot. She also received a nomination for the Monsters Dance 2022 Show from Jaquel Knight.
Sydney has modeled for a multitude of brands, helping bring inclusivity to the forefront. She has worked with Adidas, Hollister Gilly Hicks, Nude Barre, and Olay Beauty.
Most recently, Mesher kickstarted her acting career while filming Hallmark’s “A Holiday Spectacular,” which premiered over the holiday season in late 2022.
Coming October 31st, 2023, Sydney will be a published author. The book “Dancing Through Life: The True Story of Sydney Mesher, a Professional Dancer with a Limb Difference,” will come to publication via Macmillan Publishing Group.
Sydney also enjoys fitness as a therapeutic outlet. She has been coaching at OrangeTheory Fitness since early 2021. Mesher has her NASM CPT, her 200 Yoga Certification (Yoga Vida NYC), as well as her Adaptive and Inclusive Trainer Certificate (ATA FIT) which focuses on creating inclusive workouts for disabled athletes.
She has been interviewed and been featured in articles by CNN, NBC, NBC Nightly News, ESPN, the Oregonian, Newsday, People Magazine, GMA, New York Post, and the Mighty.
She has trained and worked with many choreographers, including Luam Keflezgy, Candace Brown, Shannon Lewis, Mandy Moore, Sorya Lundy, Courtney Washington, Nubian Nene, Martha Nichols, Karen Keeler, Julie Branam, Janelle Ginestra, Tony Testa, Rhonda Miller, Keenan Cooks, Liz Imperio, Alexandra Damiani, Bo Park, Laura Haney, Sean McKnight, and Jessica Hendricks. She has assisted industry legend, Galen Hooks, in various master classes, and has been a featured dancer and a dance caption for Luam Keflezgy.
Her career is driven by her hopes to bring a new image to the entertainment industry, by highlighting different body types and celebrating individuality.
